ABOUT US

Our preaching comes straight from the Bible and centers on Christ.  The songs that we sing are chosen because they are about Christ. In all that we do, we seek to focus on Christ and we fail. We fall short of this goal time and time again; but this is the very reason that we concentrate on Him.  We are weak in so many ways, and He is strong. We are sinful and he is full of pardoning grace. We are oftentimes faithless, and yet He is faithful, and so we fix our aim on Him. Churches have changed a lot since the New Testament and many of them have not changed for the better.  Our desire is to go back to what churches would have looked like in the beginning.

LORD'S SUPPER

We take the Lord's supper every week as a part of our fellowship meal because we think that it is important.

HOSPITALITY

We encourage hospitality. Fellowshipping with other families in the church during the week is a normal occurrence.

PREACHING

We preach verse by verse through entire books of the Bible. This ensures that we are not just preaching our favorite passages and skipping over the ones that we are uncomfortable with or find difficult. We seek to preach the whole counsel of God.

FAMILY INTEGRATION

We do not have children's programs or youth groups. We believe that all who trust in Jesus, even children, are part of his church and should be present together when the church gathers to worship. Likewise, those who have not come to believe in Jesus, should also be present, experiencing the worship of God and hearing His word being preached.

PASTORING

Our pastor doesn't just preach. He takes a hands-on approach to pastoring. He desires to know the sheep and to spend time with them, both inside and outside the church doors.

FAMILY WORSHIP

We believe that parents who are in Christ, should be regularly teaching their children from scriptures at home in obedience to the command in Ephesians for fathers to "bring up [your children] in the discipline and instruction of the Lord."

Louis Lyons

OUR PASTOR

Louis was saved by God at the early age of six years old and since junior high has desired to be involved in ministry. In 2000, he graduated from the University of Houston with a degree in Accounting. Later, he studied at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary where he received a Master of Divinity degree. He then enrolled in Grace Family Institute in Spring, Texas where he served as a pastoral intern under Voddie Baucham. He is  knowledgeable in the Scriptures and provides insight and wisdom for practical living.  Louis and his wife Vivian have three children. He loves to discuss theology and its implications in every area of life. He thinks that one of the greatest joys in life is that of caring for God's people.

LOUIS LYONS

Our pastor (elder) seeks to obey the calling of God to lead, protect, feed and know the flock. He has received his charge directly from God in the Scriptures:  "...shepherd the flock of God that is among you, exercising oversight, and not under compulsion, but willingly, as God would have you; not for shameful gain, but eagerly; not domineering over those in your charge, but being examples to the flock." He takes this charge seriously and seeks to know and personally care for those who are members. Sometimes, those who are not used to pastoral care may feel a little uncomfortable when the pastor asks if he can come over for a visit, but once you get used to the caring friendly culture, you'll come to love it. In order for an elder to properly pastor his flock, it is necessary that he actually know them and their circumstances.

WE ARE CURRENTLY SEARCHING AND PRAYING FOR ADDITIONAL ELDERS TO BUILD A PLURALITY.
